Seguin Race Updates
Updated 2115 Saturday - This blog is where you can see any race updates that the RC posts during the event.
1530 Saturday - The TCF for Seguin will be 550.
0015 Sunday -
Preliminary Results are posted for the Seguin Island Sprint. Congratulations to Tamarack, High Energy, Dilly DIlly & Morning Star. There are two more boats on the race course, expected finish in the next couple of hours. Final results will be announced in the morning at the awards brunch. Live music, good food, beverages and time to swap stories.
2115 Saturday - It’s been busy here, a mess of Seguin boats have finished, we have Monhegan boats at the dock, pizza is out, beer is cold.
2000 Saturday - All Seguin boats are headed back from Seguin with Zephyr and Spadafina rounding. The first Seguin boat should be finishing shortly.
1930 Saturday -
Most of the fleet has rounded Seguin and is heading home. The breeze is still up, 13 knots out of the SW. Most boats have to tack to make 1EC (the turning mark before the finish) it will be interesting to see how things pan out.
1745 Saturday - Koloa Maoli rounded Seguin. Wild Blue came shortly after. They are headed home!
1700 Saturday -
Zephyr rounded the Pilot buoy so all of the Seguin fleet is heading towards Seguin. Koloa Maoli is about 6 miles from Seguin, leading the fleet and Class A, followed by Wild Blue, Go Dog Go, Tamarack and Breakaway. High Energy leads Class B, Chaos Theory leads Class C with Dilly Dilly right behind them. Morning Star leads Class D with Mainesee on their tails. It is close, it is fast, I bet it is a lot of fun!
1530 Saturday
The Seguin fleet took off in a filling southerly breeze. It was 4-6 knots at the start, soon up to 8-10. The fleet is about to start rounding the Pilot buoy and head down to Seguin. Currently Mainesee leads Morning Star in Class D. Dilly Dilly and Chaos Theory are neck and neck in Class C. High Energy is leading Class B, with Go Dog Go, Family Wagon and Koloa Maoli leading Class A. Breeze is up and it should be a good run down to Seguin today.
0700 - Saturday
The day is looking pretty good for the Seguin fleet. We have a nice breeze right now that is expected to shift around to the south southwest around noon, and stay there! It may get a little lighter in the early hours but it is supposed to stay strong enough for all boats to have a good run! You may notice two boats switched from Monhegan to Seguin yesterday. Wild Blue and Koloa Maoli both took the option to change courses. Monhegan has a policy of letting boats who have signed up (and even started) switch to the Seguin course. We want all boats to be out there sailing and sometimes that means choosing a different option then you had planned.
0500 Friday -
The Seguin fleet has a day to rest after enjoying the party last night. Looking at the forecast the models appear to be in better alignment. With an afternoon shift that builds into the evening. A generic J35 has a finishing window of 8-10pm. We will see if the forecast holds up over the next 24 hours. The slower race boats are looking at a longer window, but the conditions should be favorable for a finish before midnight. (Famous last words) The jib and main folks have their work cur out as they will be heading dead downwind for the run from the Pilot Buoy to Seguin. However at the moment the wind is predicted to stay up after midnight, which could be critical for that fleet.
